On days when we fly a blue flag (cold or windy weather) remember that students are not allowed to enter the building before 7:00 a.m. as we do not have staff to supervise them until that time. After 7:00 a.m. students may enter through the main front door or the back door with the buzzer and wait in the gym. Thank you for your cooperation.

Tuesday is Festive Shirts Day! Wear a sweater, T-shirt, sweatshirt etc. with a holiday theme.

Monday is Candy Cane Day! Remember to wear RED & WHITE

Our Toys for Tots schedule is FULL. Anyone who does not have an appointment scheduled will be placed on a waiting list. We will contact you if a space becomes available.

Tomorrow, Friday Dec 10 is Blizzard Day! Remember to wear WHITE!

Our Drum Line will have a special part in tonight's Holiday Concert at 6:00 p.m. We hope to see you there.

Our School District 11 superintendent has informed us that beginning December 13, 2021, facial coverings/masks will not be required in D11 schools and buildings. However, they will be required for any students or staff members while using district transportation, due to the federal mandate. If you have questions, please call the school at 719-637-0311.

WE NEED USED UNIFORMS if you have outgrown shirts, pants, skirts, sweaters, etc. in RCA colors (blue, white, black, khaki) in good condition, consider donating them to RCA. We keep clothing on hand for kids who need an emergency change during the day. We also plan to have a clothing sale after the Holiday Break. The LAST DAY for before- and after-school activities will be Thursday, December 9. This includes Tutoring, Homework Club, Lego Club, Choir/Band, Writing Club, Art Club, Basketball, Zumba, and Adult English Classes.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING The staff of Roosevelt Charter Academy have been sharing things they are thankful for on the tailfeathers of Toni, the RCA Turkey! We wish our entire RCA family a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Remember that all next week, Nov 22-26, there are NO CLASSES. We’ll see you back at school on Nov 29.

TONIGHT is Family Game Night at Roosevelt. Come at 5 p.m. to play table games in grade-level classrooms. Then stay for Pizza in the gym. Games and Turkey Dinner Baskets will awarded at the end of the evening (around 6:00 p.m.).

USED UNIFORMS NEEDED Thanksgiving Break is a good time to go through your student’s uniforms for shirts, pants, skirts, sweaters, etc. that are outgrown. If these items are still in good condition, consider donating them to RCA. We keep clothing on hand for kids who need an emergency change during the day. UNIFORM REMINDER Please remember that uniforms are to be worn to school every day, Monday through Thursday. Uniform colors are BLUE, BLACK, WHITE, and KHAKI/TAN. Other colors should not be worn on uniform days (except as outer jackets). Jeans can only be worn on Fridays. Thank you for your cooperation in this.

Moving forward, Roosevelt Charter Academy will NOT participate in any virtual learning days called by District 11 due to weather or emergency related situations.  We will have regular snow days (no online work required) during times of inclement weather.  

Stop by the RCA office to enter your family to win a Thanksgiving Dinner Basket! The collection bowl is starting to fill up, so put your name in soon (one per family). Fifteen baskets will be given away at Parent Night on November 18. You must be present to win.

PARENT NIGHT -- FAMILY BOARD GAMES Thursday, Nov 18th, 5:00-6:00 p.m. Play board games with your family then stay for pizza for dinner! Enter to win your own board games which will be awarded along with Thanksgiving baskets at the end of the evening.

Snacks and drinks will be sold at the front of the school THIS FRIDAY, November 5, from 1:30 to 2:00. Prices range from $.50 to $2.00 This will be the LAST day snacks will be sold this year.

Thanksgiving Basket Raffle RCA will be giving away 15 Thanksgiving Baskets with all the ingredients for a Turkey Dinner. To enter, please stop by the front office to fill out an entry form (one per family). Baskets will be given away at Parent Night on November 18. Parents must be present to win.

Many of you have asked when the t-shirts and hoodies with RCA logos will be delivered. We are sorry to say it will be a few more weeks because of some items that had to be backordered. We are in frequent contact with the company and will let those who ordered items know as soon as they are available. Thank you for supporting our school and for your patience in this matter.
