School kids

To our Roosevelt community,

We are approaching that time of year when our students are required to test and demonstrate their knowledge.  Colorado Measures of Academic Success Assessments are scheduled for the end of April, and our Galileo benchmark is scheduled for the beginning of May.  As we prepare our students for this endeavor, attendance is essential.  This has been a year of constant change; however, our health statistics have improved significantly over the last month, and we thank you all for sending your little ones back to school to learn and progress with our teachers guiding them every step of the way.  There is so much learning that occurs in a classroom setting that is difficult to duplicate on-line, and we are seeing so many of your littles blossom and thrive with our return to in-person learning.  The consistent reinforcement of learning objectives, the collaboration, and the access to the wealth of resources our school provides is assisting our students in working through all that has occurred over the past ten months.

Research continues to demonstrate the resilience of children despite challenging circumstances, and we are witnessing this firsthand.  Your children have come to school ready to learn, excited for new experiences, and ready to take on any challenge presented.  With that said, kudos to our families for all your hard work during the last year!  On-line learning presents challenges, and to those of you that have continued to persevere with this model, we thank you, too.  This instructional setting requires our parents to be teachers and regimented in their own daily lives in order to dedicate time to their children’s education.  It’s hard, and we commend you; keep at it!  Many of you need this to ensure the safety of your families; it’s understandable and we thank you.  Please keep encouraging your littles to log on, work through the assignments, attend the live instructional sessions, and communicate with us.  We are here to support you.

We ask, as we move through the next few months, that we work as a team–Roosevelt families and educators together as one to ready our students for the challenges ahead.  We need our kids with us each day to keep the momentum going. We need them to do their homework to practice skills taught in class. And we need all of us to keep every child knowing just how amazing they are and what they are capable of accomplishing!  Pat yourselves on the back, keep your littles in the routines of coming to school every day, ready to tackle the next challenge, and praise them for all they are putting into this.  Together, we will keep our students on track for educational success!
