Back to School!

Dear Parents / Families:

Next week we will begin welcoming students back for full day in-person instruction.  Your students’ homeroom teacher should have already made contact to determine if your family is choosing to stay with distance learning or if you plan to attend for in-person learning.  If you have questions or concerns about this, please contact your student’s homeroom teacher or the front office at contact@rca-csprings.org or (719) 637-0311.

We will be staggering the return of students by grade level.  Students will report to their homeroom teacher outside of their exterior classroom door or a designated spot at 7:25 am on the day they are scheduled to return, as follows:

  • Monday, September 21: Kindergarten and First Grade
  • Tuesday, September 22: Second Grade
  • Wednesday, September 23: Third Grade
  • Thursday, September 24: Fourth Grade
  • Friday, September 25: Fifth Grade

Information about drop off and dismissal is forthcoming from your student’s homeroom teacher.

Students returning for in-person learning must be ready to practice social distancing and follow CDC recommended safety practices at school.  All students must bring and wear a mask in the building.  While at school, students will be asked to remain 3 feet apart from their peers; they will be asked to regularly wash and disinfect their hands and spaces; they will use certain assigned bathrooms, that are being cleaned and disinfected on a strict schedule.  Students will, when possible, use outdoor routes to navigate the school and classes will be grouped by grade level cohorts during times like lunch, recess, and physical education to limit the contact of students throughout the day.

Additionally, as some students remain distance learning for this time, we will continue to utilize Schoology during in-person instruction to facilitate learning and access to class materials.  All students must bring their Chromebook to and from school each day.  This ensures that, should we be asked to move to a Stay at Home Order or need to otherwise resume distance learning, we can seamlessly continue classes and instruction through Schoology.  It also allows teachers to assign the same work and resources to students, regardless of distance or in-person learning.

To comply with El Paso County guidelines, visitors will not be allowed into hallways or classrooms.  Anyone visiting in the front office will be asked to leave their contact information to comply with the contact tracing.

Again, for questions or concerns, please contact your student’s homeroom teacher or the front office at contact@rca-csprings.org or (719) 637-0311.

Thank you,

Roosevelt Charter Academy
