Alisha Kurtz, 2nd Grade Teacher

Welcome to Second Grade! I feel so blessed getting to say this, two years in a row at this amazing school! In the past I have taught preschool, Kindergarten, and Second grade, but have developed a sweet spot for second grade. I have been happily married for 27 years with 3 amazing children ages 24, 22, and 19. We also have two Australian Shepherds who are family as well... just less expensive! I love the wonder of childhood. It is a true honor to be able to witness, cultivate, and harvest the enthusiasm and wonder children bring in the door every single day into an educational adventure that will be lifelong. I truly believe all children can learn and all children want to learn. My number one goal is to help each of my students understand this. I love to travel to visit our three kids who live in different states and sometimes countries! I also like to exercise, cook, read, garden, and binge watch Netflix.

Teresa Bernier, 2nd Grade Teacher

Hello! My name is Teresa Bernier. I am a 2nd grade teacher at Roosevelt. I have also taught kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade. I have been a reading and math interventionist too. I grew up traveling around the country as an Army daughter. I went to high school in Washington State and graduated from Eastern Wahington University. I am married with twin boys and have a dog named cupcake. I love teaching elementary school because I want to make learning fun! My biggest accomplishment as a teacher is to give my students the love of learning and school.
